The FIA World Endurance Championship returns to the iconic Japanese circuit of Fuji for the first time since 2019 with a 36-car entry of five cars apiece in Hypercars and LMGTE Pro and thirteen in both LMP2 and LM GTE Am for the 6 Hours of Fuji taking place on 11th September.
In the Hypercar class, a brace of Toyotas and Peugeots face a solitary Alpine, as Toyota and Alpine resume their intense battle from Monza and Peugeot put more kilometres on their Hypercar. There is no appearance from the Monza pole-sitting Glickenhaus entry in Japan.
In LMGTE Pro, it’s two Porsche and two Ferraris battling a solitary Corvette again, with the pitwall strategists of the former two paying even closer attention to the fuelling strategy of the Monza winning ‘vette.
Two driver changes are noted in LMP2, at #31 WRT entry René Rast is replaced by Belgian Dries Vanthoor whilst in the Vector Sport #10 entry Dutchman Renger Van der Zande replaces Nico Müller, whilst the ARC Bratislava entry stands down from the event,
Finally, the LMGTE Am class is as per Monza, with another trilling battle expected from the thirteen car entry.
